I’m testing different signal chain on guitar. Reverbs and Delays pre vs post cab/mic.
When recorded through the cab FXs translate better in mono easing the mix stage and stereo positioning.
When applied in post they create larger and more realistic space in the stereo field.
Software Monitoring Matrix/Controller. No hardware monitor controller’s needed. Reaper is a fully customizable DAW with Custom action and fully integrated extensions.
I’m programming a set of button to switch between different speakers, and to activate some critical listening functions.

AES67 is an AoIP (AoE) interoperable standard. I recently upgraded the lab adopting this standard in audio connections between different rooms, devices, DAWs.

AES67 fills the gap betwen different propetary AoIP standards: RAVENNA, Livewire, Q-LAN and Dante.
A set of linux tools and modules helped me in the adoption.
Wall of Sound guitar is recorded through a plethora of amps. The cobination of clean, saturated and distorted tones creates distinct tymbrical textures and prevents any losses in definition.
A lack of care for the phase relationship between the signals may end up in comb filtering effects, destructive interferences or unpredictable inconsistencies in the stereo field.

CD authoring is the process where METADATA and MUSIC get combined into a physical-optical support.
I’m preparing and verifyng the DDP Master for Harmaline’s new album “HOPE”. DDP is a reference format for delivering the output of the authoring process to a CD manufacturer / press plant / duplicator.

CD belongs to a previous era: The “golden age of Digital production” THE 80 – 90’S !
In that period of time (if you were in the right emisphere of planet earth) the working class was always happy! People was actually paying money for good music. The money were invested in fine musical production and also in prostitutes and drugs for musicians / managers / discographers.
We were really happy because human socialization was not conducted over the Internet and governments pushed the pubblic expenditure ad public debt (inflation). But…… the end was in sight. (Napster and Taxes).
