I’m testing different signal chain on guitar. Reverbs and Delays pre vs post cab/mic.
When recorded through the cab FXs translate better in mono easing the mix stage and stereo positioning.
When applied in post they create larger and more realistic space in the stereo field.

I’m “automating” my synth trails. Automation in the analog domain is moving the hands on an electric device (forgetting VCAs). I’m controlling the levels using my hand and recording the acoustic result back to my daw.
Putting a volume controller into different points of an effect chain brings to different results. Taking care or unlearn about impedence mismatches may determine interesting sounds.
